Interview with Stéphane
What message(s) do you want to express through your work? Everything, and nothing at the same time. I would just say I was blasé by the nude art monotony, and that too often perverse way in which the woman body is shown to us. It was short of softness, colors, mystery; in a word, everything a woman can bring to a man’s life ;)
Which artists inspire you?, who are your masters?
I love woman, and I liked to tell her, without writing a word.None! I have a most poor artistic culture, even today. My inspiration?… My everyday life, imagination, pictures I bumped into on the street, on the internet…
What have you gained by being on the internet?Visibility, confrontation with others eyes. The possibility to express myself as free as possible. It can seem ridiculous, but nowadays, an artist has often to pay by himself to have the right to exhibit his work.
Did the internet enable you to meet new models, to find new exhibit places?New models, yes, clearly. Without the internet, I still would be in a real hassle! Each and every young woman shown at the center of my pictures comes from the internet. New exhibit places? No… But one day, who knows?…
What projects mean a lot to you at the moment?A new portal dedicated to artists (www.monmodele.com). The first stable version is on line, but still not perfect. A new version is in progress… And other little things, the organization of an artists’ show, my company, some things to occupy myself.
Could you tell us a few words about the place you live/work in?At home! In both cases… Teleworking is sometimes pleasant.
